changing room
Before entering the clean-room, personnel must remove street clothing and put on specially developed protective clothing according to a predetermined procedure. The changing room is located in an airlock (gray area) and is often divided into 2 or 3 areas of graduated cleanliness. Facilities include lockers, cross-over benches which mark the division between areas and a full-length mirror to check that protective clothing has been donned effectively. Entry of personnel into the clean-room is timed to avoid simultaneous presence of departing personnel.
