clean bench

A clean bench is an enclosed work bench with its own air supply which bathes the work process in HEPA-filtered air. The worker usually accesses the work process through a sliding screen. The clean bench was initially developed for research purposes but it is now also used in the aerospace, bioscience, pharmaceutical and food production processes.
