Contamination

Contamination in the context of the clean-room may be:

  • Particles and Fibers
  • Microorganisms
  • Chemicals
  • Electrostatic

In all types of clean-rooms, particles and fibers are undesirable and in the electronics and optical industries, very small particles can disturb processes and damage products. In the pharmaceutical and food industries and in medical facilities, contamination through microorganisms plays the primary role.
Clean room technology minimizes only the contamination which is relevant to the process carried out there as processes to remove contamination are work and cost-intensive. Dekontamination is carried out according to clearly defined criteria.
