Doors into clean rooms or between clean-room areas generally open inwards into the more critical area to enable personnel to enter backwards without touching the door with hands. Sliding doors are avoided as they are more difficult to clean. If there is more than one door, a warning or locking device is fitted to avoid simultaneous opening.
