HEPA filter

High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter. These filters are important for the maintenance of a contamination-free environment. They filter particles up to  0.3 micrometers with transmittance efficiency of 99.97%. They do not act merely as a sieve but achieve the much higher transmittance through adhering to or embedding in filter fibers. In addition, there is the diffusion effect whereby very small particles are impeded by collision with gas molecules.
