Semiconductor
Electronics differentiate between materials which conduct electricity (conductors) and those which do not (insulators). There are materials, however, with a crystaline structure which has an electrical resistivity between that of the conductor and the insulator: the semiconductor. Transistors, which are the basis of electronic goods are made of semiconductors as are solar cells.
