Sterilization is the process to deactivate microorganisms on materials, clothing and equipment in order to exclude infectious agents from processes. The process, which may be physical (heat, radiation) or chemical, is important in the clean-rooms of the pharmaceutical industry, in food production, in biotechnology and medical facilities.
